Sheep!

One of my favorite things on earth is to see a herd of sheep. I have no idea why I enjoy it so much, but it can make any average day a spectacular day in my book. We used to see a herd of sheep sometimes on our runs up to the castle in Bamberg. Bailey and I saw a heard of sheep with their sheep herder in Romania, and we all saw a Palestinian sheep herder with his herd of sheep in Israel. It literally makes my heart melt! Anyway, we were driving the other day and were deciding if we were going to take the Autostrada (highway with tolls) or the back roads. We decided to take the back roads in order to look for someplace to eat. After about 25 minutes on the backroads, I was complaining to Bryan and Mia that we should have taken the Autostrada, when at the exact same moment, we turned a corner and saw a herd of sheep! Not only was there a herd of sheep, but the perfect spot to pull off and just watch them for a while. (thank goodness we took the back roads!) Probably one of my favorite things in life!! :-)

Even Kiwi was enthralled!

If you look close, you can see the babies!

Lago di Fimon

There is a small lake nearby, called Lago di Fimon. It is funny because we would probably consider this a pond, but it is a very popular area here for biking, walking, running. We took Kiwi for a short adventure out to the Lake - so pretty!

Vicenza

Just some pictures of Vicenza (and of course a few pics of our dog thrown in for good measure :-))

A beautiful full moon over the park

Gelato Season begins!

Our dog loves being outside!

And a little Aperol Spritz while it is Yellow (Covid has put a damper on dining, but with the color of Yellow - it was allowed)

An iconic view of Vicenza

Chioggia

We have been having gorgeous weather, so we decided to head to the coast (about an hour away) for the day. Chioggia (pronounced Kioja) is a little gem just south of Venice. Like Verona, it gets a different type of tourist. Most tourists head to Venice, but we really enjoyed this alternative. It is an authentic fishing town with deep sea fishing boats and fish markets, delicious food and gelato. It was Kiwi's 3rd birthday, so she came with us to celebrate - and oh my, she had fun with all of the different smells (we were quickly reminded that some places are easier than others with a dog - ha ha!). Luckily, Italians love their dogs and even when she sniffed the aprons of the restaurant workers - they turn and say "ciao bella" and give her a pat and a smile! It reminds you of old Italy with the laundry strung across the windows. It also has miles of beaches which we did not even get to during this visit (the beaches are pretty commercialized though). A super fun day!

Just like Venice there are tons of canals...

Blue skies and a nice breeze!

The water was clear...

Kiwi strutting her stuff - ha!

Posing on her birthday!

The fish market

Laundry strung out to dry...

The reflections were beautiful!

Pescheria (fish market)

Supposedly, the oldest clock in the World!

More fish market pics...

2 of our pack!

Has the same look as Venice, but a different vibe!

Love all of the old boats

Such a cute town!

Fresh from the Adriatic and Mediterranean

Such a pretty reflection of the Church!

And the Birthday Girl - whose mother is a crazy dog mom!

Beautiful Chioggia!
