Keeping it real!!

So... we live in an amazing 400 year old house. They have been working on our roof. Mia and I were playing cards one night (Bryan was away). We literally look up and see the walls start "bleeding" with water. It was a bit like a horror movie. The ceilings are at least 14 feet high - so that is a lot of water to come down!! We also had a hole in the roof - thanks to the roof construction, and it got all over our attic stuff. Oh - and did I mention this happened 4 separate times? Never a dull Moment!!

 It is 100% official!! Bailey - we are so unbelievably proud of you !! It has been a crazy year and a half, but in the end - you did it! Congratulations!!

Treviso

Treviso is another University town just inland a bit from Venice. It is another gorgeous town with Canals and bridges, similar to Venice. It is also famous for being the home to tiramisu cake and the brand Benetton. And of course it is famous for Prosecco too!

Belluno

Belluno is a city nestled in the Mountains near the "pre-alps". It is absolutely gorgeous and a not really on the touristy map. My Italian teacher recommended it to us and I am so glad we went to check it out.

I ordered a Salmon Salad - oh my, was it delicious!

It actually had a bit of an Austrian feel to the town!

Prosecco Road - Valdobbiadene

I have a great group of travel friends from different European Countries that meet up every so often for a cool adventure. We were finally all allowed to travel! This time we were celebrating a big birthday and the destination was "Prosecco Road".  Veneto is the Region in Italy that is famous for Prosecco and "Prosecco Road" is the area within Veneto that is extra famous for its Prosecco. The road stretches about 20 miles, with Valdobbiadene on one side and Conegliano on the other. Valdobbiadene is probably the most famous of the towns along the road and that is where we stayed for several nights. It is a great location, nestled among hundreds of acres of  vineyards. The great thing is that from the hotel, you could just walk through the vineyards to different Prosecco Tastings. It is a beautiful place and definitely one of my favorites!
