One of my Bucket List items was to see the Tour de France in person. I did some research and the 7th stage of the race was going to be happening in an area that was on our way home from Southern France. We arrived in Tomblaine for the start of the 7th stage early in the morning (so early because we were a bit crazy and drove through the night in order to avoid traffic - we are definitely too old to be pulling "all nighters", but made it!). The vibe was so exciting at the beginning of the race. There were people lined on the streets and a caravan that passed through throwing all kinds of goodies to the spectators from the sponsors. We hung out in some of the cafe's and they even handed out merch from various racers. It was a fun morning waiting in anticipation and then the race started. The racers flew by in seconds and they were off - the Peloton, the yellow jacket, the race teams and their crew were gone in the blink of an eye. It was so exciting though and so glad we had the opportunity to see it!!

This is how close we got to them - crazy!! |

Had to throw this one in - it was a baguette vending machine we saw in one of the villages on the way to Tomblaine - so funny!! |
